A stunning grape growing season for the 2019 Harvest. A dry Spring, followed by a hot and dry Summer with a little bit of rain just before harvest began, resulting in intense flavours and ripeness in the grapes and wines. Fresh rock melon with hints of spicy passionfruit on the nose. The palate is creamy, lush and smooth with soft oak and a lingering subtle caramel finish. An opulent wine full of great finesse. The Mt Arthur reserve series showcases the Kahurangi Estate’s premium wines. Sauvignon Blanc from two vineyards, one in the Moutere Hills and one in the Kina Peninsula, are used the production of this wine. Fermented in French oak barriques and puncheons and then aged in those vessels for over ten months.
This wine is like your favourite winter jumper, soft, warm, and comforting. Complex but mellow aromas of stone fruit, oak, vanilla, and warm, roasted apple with undertones of mandarin on the nose. A medium bodied wine with a creamy texture, fresh pineapple, white peach, and spice are found on the palate with mouth watering acidity and a long citrus driven finish. Drink on its own or with food, just make sure you drink it!
